Maths Mania wants the hands on activities in this book to bring the fun of mathematics to primary aged children. Finally, in one book, a collation of over 130 activities, some familiar and others totally new, that are designed to provide the teacher easy access to exciting hands on maths. Designed by teachers for teachers, with the aim of facilitating fun activities that assist in the teaching of maths in the primary school classroom. The activities are diverse, easy to understand, simple to duplicate and applicable to all year levels. Focusing on the strands of Number, Measurement, Space, Chance & Data, and Reasoning & Strategy, the
activities place material learnt in the classroom into real life situations. Used as separate maths sessions or as reinforcement for existing content, these activities can be adapted to all year levels and provide the teacher with an alternative method of MAKING MATHS FUN.
The book is divided into sections relating to the strands covered in the KLA of Maths. Each section contains at least 25 activities specific to these strands and are suited to lower, middle or upper primary level. Most activities can be adapted to suit the grade level and are designed to use materials readily available in the classroom or playground. All sheets required for the activities are included and can be adapted as needed. The activities should take at minimum

half an hour to complete, however there are quite a number that are more involved and with discussion could take more than a session. Activities can also be changed to suit the classroom level, understanding and resources, and the teacher will find that they will be able to return to many activities a number of times in different ways and through different methods but hopefully with the same enthusiasm with which they were created.
